In March 2019, Premier Li Keqiang first mentioned "prevention and treatment of chronic diseases" in the government work report; In July 2019, the State Council issued the "State Council's opinions on implementing healthy China action" (No. 2019] [13]. It was proposed that the standardized management rates of diabetes patients should reach 60% and above and 70% or more by 2022 and 2030 respectively.
The guidelines issued by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the National Institute of health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) of the UK suggest that patients should be recommended to conduct high-frequency measurements according to their own conditions and treatment plans. The number of patients who are measured daily is not less than 5 times. The non-invasive blood glucose meter is non-invasive, painless, no skin puncture injury, and reduces the risk of infection. One minute rapid measurement, intuitive display of blood sugar change trend, small size, convenient to carry, no need for consumables and many other advantages, is the first choice for future diabetic patients.
The substitution of domestic medical devices for imports in hospitals accelerated. In the early stage, due to the significant advantages of imported blood glucose meter brands over domestic brands in terms of technology, brand and sales, the first mover advantage made the imported brands occupy a great share of the hospital market. At present, imported brands still occupy 80% of the hospital market, which has a large alternative space.
According to IDF's prediction, the number of diabetic patients in China will reach 141 million /1.47 billion by 2030/2045. It is estimated that the compound growth rate of blood glucose detection market scale will be close to 20% in the next three years, and will reach about 18.6 billion yuan in 2023.
At present, there is no large-scale market sales of completely noninvasive blood glucose meter products in the domestic market, and the price of products planned to be launched in the future is higher than that of traditional blood glucose meter and dynamic blood glucose detection; Moreover, due to technical limitations, the accuracy of blood glucose detection fluctuates greatly. However, compared with the traditional blood glucose detection methods, the non-invasive blood glucose meter basically does not produce medical waste and is more environmentally friendly.
The investment analysis and prospect forecast report on the development of noninvasive blood glucose meter industry released by CMRC Zhongyan Century Consulting shows that among the enterprises developing, producing or selling noninvasive blood glucose meters in the domestic market:
Domestic enterprises, represented by Bobang Fangzhou, Shutang information, sannuo biology and Yuyue medical, are engaged in the R & D and sales of non-invasive blood glucose products. Among foreign-funded enterprises, Abbott adopts CGM dynamic blood glucose monitoring technology as non-invasive, and cnoga medical sinoga products are invasive and non-invasive combined products.
In the international market, there are many enterprises engaged in the research of noninvasive blood glucose meters, such as Medtronic, echotherapeutics, biocontrol technology, Israeli integrity applications, etc., but there is no breakthrough in technology, and some products on sale have only obtained CE certification.
