China is a large agricultural country. According to the statistics of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, the total amount of agricultural machinery invested in spring tillage in 2020 will reach 22million, an increase of 300000 over 2019. At the same time, in 2019, China's comprehensive mechanization rate will be 69%, and the machine tillage rate, machine seeding rate and machine yield will be 84%, 56% and 61% respectively.

Although China has been committed to popularizing agricultural mechanization since the reform and opening up, it has also achieved great results. However, compared with European and American countries, China has a big gap in both agricultural mechanization and agricultural machinery industry. From the average cultivated land area borne by each labor force in the table, we can see the obvious gap.

As for the agricultural machinery industry, according to the statistics of the General Administration of customs, China's total import of agricultural machinery has remained high from 2017 to 2019, of which the import of large agricultural machinery has been the mainstream. Domestic machinery manufacturing industry produces more small and medium-sized agricultural machinery.

Domestic agricultural machinery manufacturing enterprises will not only be under the pressure from foreign competitive enterprises, but also face increasingly fierce competition from domestic enterprises. From 2011 to 2017, the number of domestic agricultural machinery enterprises increased by 597.

The development of agricultural machinery in China will continue to optimize, learn and surpass along the road of agricultural machinery automation in Europe and the United States. The first is the development of agricultural machinery products to large-scale and efficient, the second is the improvement of agricultural machinery products' intelligence, automation and refinement ability, and finally, resource-saving and environmental protection products have gradually become the mainstream. Comparing the gap between domestic and foreign agricultural machinery industry, we can see that the prospect and future development of domestic agricultural machinery industry are promising.
